Adventures in crafting, creating, organizing, and and any other "ing" I may think of while living my dream of being a stay at home mommy.

Patriotic Wreath

I truly love looking at other blogs.  Especially the craft ones!  I love getting ideas and making them my own.
A few months ago I happened to find rosettes.  I love them!  I am so drawn to them and don't quite know why.  Possibly because it is a craft I seem to be able to do with ease.
My first attempt at rosettes yielded quite a bumper crop of brightly colored red and white flowers of all sizes.
This project truly takes minimal amounts of fabric and the cost for me was under Five dollars to make.  That's right folks...under 5!!!

Items needed: fabric for flowers (I always have scrap fabric on hand...be creative - if you don't have fabric use that old tshirt with a hole in it, an old towel, scrap ribbon, ANYTHING!), straw wreath (or whatever kind you can get), old t-shirt (bought mine at Goodwill),  scissors, hot glue or fabric glue.

I cut the shirt into strips and hot glued them around the wreath.  Note- I got a small shirt and I would definitely recommend a large shirt, especially if you are using a 16" wreath.
Next - my favorite!!! Make your rosettes.
Be warned, you will burn your fingers!
Here are the results...(Too hard to pick my favorite)

Last step, glue those babies onto your new wreath.
Here's a closeup:
I also found a super cute USA sign at Dollar Tree and hung him right in the middle of the wreath.  I love the end product, and such satisfaction!

Happy 4th of July!
Just imagine all the possibilities for a wreath like this.
You could make a color for every season.
I can't wait to see what you make!

I'm Back!

Last week I was so excited to start blogging.  As you may have read, I spent alot of time working on my fonts and learing how to use meta tags, etc.  Then Blogger went down and it all disappeared.  Needless to say, I was a little frustrated and took a step back from it before I went crazy trying to fix everything.
I decided to just go with a blogger template and just wait a while to see if I really do start blogging like my imagination thinks I will!
In the meantime, I have been thinking of all sorts of ideas I would like to share.  Crafting in general.  Mainly because I have been so inspired by other blogs I have been checking out.  I am slowly putting a pile together for spray painting.  I also have lots of other craft ideas and organizational ideas.
I am currently working on a silhouette for the ponytail momma using my face.  We haven't printed any pictures yet, but I am not too thrilled about what my neck keeps doing in the pictures.  I guess we will see what we get.
I also have a few who are going to share their craftiness as well, given that they don't have their baby in a few days.
Can't wait to get this party started!
Hazaa!

So many choices!!!

Ok.  When I started this little adventure, I had no idea how many choices there were for backgrounds, fonts, colors, super-geeky computer codes, and all that good stuff.
I joked with Tyson last night that I have officially spent more time playing with how I want the page to look (still not pleased) than I will on the actual content of the page!
I will gladly take any input and advice from you fellow bloggers as to how and what I should do.

Boom Shocka Locka

It seemed like a catchy first post title!  I am officially joining the blogging world.  However, I would like for you to keep your expectations fairly low.  In the recent years I have done quite a bit of learning and growing.  All of this has led me to the realization that I am what you would call "seasonally inspired".  Well, you may not call it that, but that is the official title I have given it.

I tend to get really fired up about something and decide to leave it about halfway through.  (Please keep comments to yourself!)  But, I have really been inspired by friends and family who have started blogging.  More on their inspiration to come in another post.

This is basically my chance to get out there and let you all know my thoughts, inspirations, and project ideas.  Thanks for joining me on this journey and I look forward to a fun future together (hopefully)!

This is also a chance for my grammatically wiser friends and family to help me remember the things I forgot in high school.  I may take this very comment back in the future, but right now, I would love your help.
